First Annual Blake Museum Haunted House!
Blake Museum Haunted House, Saturday, October 30, 2010 - This fundraiser promises to be spooky, eerie and memorable! Friends with haunted house decorative experience will be called in for their expertise to make sure the skeletons and ghouls look appropriately convincing! Let us know if you would like to be involved with the planning or decorating.
June 26, 2010, Saturday: The Annual Strawberry Festival has been held here for over 30 years. Please drop by between 2:00-4:00 pm on the back lawn of the Blake House Museum, off Richmond Road. Delight in the music, socialize with old friends, and enjoy the juicy red berries, luscious homemade biscuits & mouth watering, freshly whipped cream! A cool drink is also provided. We look forward to meeting new friends & seeing the return of our old friends, some of whom travel from distant New England locations to attend this pleasant event.
July & August 2010: A special exhibit of Dollhouses & Dolls, most on loan by area collectors, will be featured in unique settings within the Museum. These may be viewed during regular tour hours, Saturdays 1:00-4:00 pm. Tours of the Blake Museum are free.
July 17, 2010, Saturday: The 35th Annual Antiques Show & Sale: Held on the Historic Fitzwilliam Town Common, this wonderful country event features antiques dealers from many states. Many of these exhibitors are able to return to sell their wares year after year, thereby building up a strong following. The show runs from 9:00-3:00 pm, rain or shine. Refreshments are available at the Manager’s Tent on the Common all day. Maps of area restaurants are available at the check in tables.
Free guided tours of the Amos J. Blake House Museum are offered by trained docents from 1:00-4:00 pm during the Antiques Show. Our special exhibit this year is Dollhouses & Dolls, mentioned above.
